Tiffany Arbuckle Lee, better known as Plumb, has released the lyric video to Lord I’m Ready Now, and it’s absolutely gorgeous. The choice of making the lyrics appear magically on a book echoes the idea of God writing out our story–shades of Francesca Battistelli’s Write Your Story, which would have benefited from a video like this!–is inspired and beautiful, and complements the song so well. Written by Lee and Luke Sheets, Lord I’m Ready Now is a raw and naked declaration of frailty and reliance on God. Probably her most personal single yet, Lord I’m Ready Now will readily and easily speak to people, who will see and hear themselves in the lyrics of the song.
To be honest, Plumb is one of those artists who can pull off any genre–she has Top 10 hits on the Club Play charts, for goodness’ sake!–and vocally, this particular track doesn’t quite sound like the Plumb that we used to hear back when she debuted. I think that’s the whole delicious point of growth, and Plumb is growing so well into her own skin, and becoming comfortable and familiar with the message she wants the world to hear, and I think it will speak to thousands upon thousands worldwide, winning souls for the kingdom of God. Isn’t that what CCM is about in the first place?
